Fishing Reports from Kevin "Reel" McCoy.
Reel McCoy is a full time, professional, Texas licensed, USCG certified fishing guide and is a member of the Coastal Bend Guides Association.  Raised in Louisiana, Kevin's fishing expertise began as a young boy. He has spent many a day on the water where he has come to understand and appreciate its challenge.  He has fine tuned his skills on the Texas Coast from Louisiana to Mexico.  The flats and bays of Rockport, Aransas, and Corpus Christi, are home to a wide range of fish including Trophy size Trout, Redfish, and Flounder.  These waters are Kevin's home also!

Hello Everybody,

Red fish are in the flats.  Dagger, Hog, Baker and Estes are all holding red fish.  They are eating dead shrimp on the bottom.  If the water is high enough drifting with lures will produce as well.  Trout are still in their winter pattern, holding on mud, mud and shell, grass and mud bottoms.  Drifting or wading with soft plastics is the key to catching them.  There are some solid trout available and there are a lot of small keepers and throwbacks as well.  Overall, fishing is good and an enjoyable day can be had on the water.  The next couple of weeks should be about the same with the water and weather not warming too much until March.

 Until Next Time: Go Fishin!!!

 Best Regards,

 Kevin
